While Animally is an especially lovely trip through the animal world, from koalas to moths, seagulls to giraffes and through the world of adverbs, from colorfully to slowly, fiercely to freely, it's also a love letter to … love and to family.

Cardstock pages and bright illustrations with lots of white space make it ideal for toddlers who will love the silliness, the message and the time spent reading it together.

It's also a great resource for the classroom, where students are learning about language and parts of speech.

Whether you love them "hugely like a whale," or "shyly like a quail," Animally truly is the perfect laptime book for sharing with all the birdily, bugily, animally loved people in your family. And it's especially nice as a baby shower, new baby or toddler gift.

From a parent:
From the moment I read this it became one of my favorite books. I love that it is all about how much you love your child(ren). The pictures are beautiful. The words are fun and catchy. And the book is large. Not a wimpy book, but a nice size, making it perfect for story time.

From a reviewer:
School Library Journal: A joyous celebration of love and family

An abundance of adverbs fill this book of “animally” love. “I love you powerfully like an ox./I love you busily like a bee./I love you doggedly like a flea.” Adverbs match well with each animal’s characteristics – “friskily like a foal,” “boldly like a ram” – and the rhyme works with each sentence pair.
Vignette-style illustrations on a white background with pencil drawings and watercolors repeat with one full-page vignette always accompanied by two smaller ones.
With rounded corners and heavy-stock glossy paper, it has the look and feel of an oversize board book.
VERDICT A warm read-aloud with potential for teaching an English class.
