Great animal fun ! I read these books with my 8 year old and 10 year old. They are about a family that purchases a slightly run down zoo. The main character is a young girl who is animal CRAZY. You get to follow her along on her adventures at the zoo. Tons of great non-fiction facts sprinkled through this series.
Fun Animal Adventure Fun story to read aloud. Kids aged 6, 9, 13 all enjoyed the story. Animal facts interspersed in the book and Quicklinks on Usborne website added a little extra to the book.
What's wonderful is the amount of animal knowledge (such as feeding, habitats, endangered species etc) deposited throughout the book, either as part of the story or as dialogue between the characters, so that for the young reader they can absorb the animal information at the same time as reading a cracking story Minerva Reads
