The Cornell Critical Thinking Tests were developed at the University of Cornell and the University of Illinois in the 1980's. They've been extensively researched and revised since that date.

The Cornell Critical Thinking Tests tests can be used to teach critical thinking skills and to predict students' performance on state achievement tests and in testing for gifted or honors programs.

The Cornell Critical Thinking Test sets the standard for all critical thinking tests as the most widely recognized critical thinking test.

If your child is going to be taking a test for gifted or honors placement the Cornell Critical Thinking Test is a real, timed, normed test (not a practice test) which you can use for preparation.

Level X is recommended for use in Grades 4 and up.

Level Z is aimed at advanced and gifted high school students, college students, graduate students, and other adults. It is used for employment placement.

This administration manual contains administration and scoring information, norms, consistency, reliability, item analysis, and validity. It is used in conjunction with either the Level X or Level Z test and an answer sheet which can be purchased separately.
