Basic Geometry and More
Support children building fundamental learning skills with specially designed exercises in three workbooks completed with a miniLUK Controller sold separately.
Establishing primary math skills:
Count to 6 provides visual introductory exercises to help children develop basic arithmetic skills. These exercises are designed in the range of numbers 0 to 6. The exercise sequences are illustrated in a very cheerful and child oriented way in order to encourage learning. Through repeated play simple arithmetic becomes automatic and learning math is a fun and self-motivating experience for children. This is an essential workbook to establish the first important steps for children's future success in math.
Count to 10 contains the same design philosophy and structure of workbook Count to 6 and carefully proceeds to a broader range of numbers from 0 to 10 with more complicated operations using age appropriate activities. The exercise sequences are beautifully illustrated in order to encourage learning while developing mathematical skills.
Basic Geometry and More provides a broader range of mathematical exercises. Math consists of many components but the two major ones are the study of numbers and geometry. Basically, the study of numbers includes addition, subtraction and other operations in which numbers are manipulated. Geometry deals with shapes, angles, lines, and spatial relationships. This workbook focuses on the basic concepts in geometry: plane and solid shapes, symmetry, patterns, and spatial relationships. The field of number manipulation is also covered at a more advanced level. Visual perception, concentration, logical thinking, and skills in observation are strengthened at the same time.
This three workbook set is an excellent resource for preparing children for the quantitative and non-verbal batteries contained in many cognitive ability tests like the CogAT, OLSAT, NNAT, WISC and others.
