The things you're looking for are described with words and pictures so the series works for pre-readers. Early readers will get the additional benefit of matching word and object.
The sticker books have the same interior pages and an additional set of sticker pages. The images in the list of objects you're looking for are sepia colored so the child can complete the page by placing the stickers on the list of things to find and then searching the picture to find them.
The sticker books are cheaper because they're paperback and a slightly smaller size.
